Thursday night Iowa City was struck by one tornado with 150 mph winds that left a path of destruction 3½ miles long and one-third of a mile wide, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado rated an F2 on the Fujita scale, meaning it was a significant tornado with the capability of producing considerable damage such as tearing off roofs and uprooting trees.

We went on a day trip to Des Moines earlier in the week, and took the long road through the wilderness. Along the way we saw strange things like this Corn Roaster!
